Regular Season Round 15: Union Mons - Oostende 95-115

One of the most interesting games of round 15 was a derby match between two teams from Belgium. The game took place in Jemappes where second rankedOostende outleveled host Belfius Mons-Hainaut (5-10) 115-95 . Oostende shot 67.2 percent from the field and made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Oostende outrebounded Union Mons 26-15 including 20 on the defensive glass. Oostende shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. It was a great evening for Danish-Israeli point guard Noam Yaacov (186-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American Silas Melson (193-1996, college: Gonzaga) helped adding 18 points and 6 assists. Melson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American forward Garrett Hien (206, college: Furman) with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Slovenian guard Maks Klanjscek (196-1999, college: Oklahoma) scored 22 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Oostende and five Union Mons players scored in double figures. Defending Belgian champion maintains second place with 13-2 record having just one point less than leader Antwerp. Union Mons lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with ten games lost.
